Intro Join us every third Wednesday of the month at our 2017 USGBC MA Chapter Presinar series to learn more about innovative approaches to sustainable design and construction of buildings and neighborhoods. The presentations are pre-recorded but we always make time for an interactive and informative discussion on each presinar topic after the presentation. To receive GBCI credit, you are required to attend in person. Hope you will join us for these informative and engaging sessions! Everblue Presents: Sparks Fly! Onsite Renewable Energy Production GBCI: 0920007634 This module is designed to introduce you to the world of onsite renewable energy production and the options that exist for LEED projects to address the built environment’s role in combatting global warming concerns based on historic electricity production levels. Participants will be offered an overview of the renewable energy production credits in the LEED BD+C, O+M, and ID+C rating systems and introduced to a project case study highlighting achievements incorporating renewable energy on site. Key terminology like net metering, distributed generation, and power purchase agreements are carefully reviewed for understanding. Finally, individuals will learn about eligible renewable energy system types and financing options available to help ensure success on LEED projects. Course Objectives: Understand global warming and the built environment’s role Explore renewable energy production options for LEED buildings Understand net metering options for LEED projects Recognize the LEED BD+C, O+M and ID+C renewable energy production credits Credits: 1 AIA 1 GBCI (LEED Specific BD+C, O+M, ID+C, GA)
