Det. Joe Gallant Memorial Party for the Police
Come enjoy some good food, good drinks, good music and good company as we celebrate our 4th Annual Party for the Police to benefit community policing programs, trainings, and resources in the City of Boston! The Det. Joe Gallant Memorial Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing fundraising for both the Boston Police Department and various Boston organizations who, in turn, support the men and women of the Boston Police Department as they continue their mission to work with citizens and communities in Boston to "fight crime, reduce fear and improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods" through community policing (from BPD Mission Statement). This foundation was started by the family and friends of Detective Joe Gallant, a 23-year veteran of the Boston Police Department and proud citizen of the City of Boston, who sadly lost his life and ended his watch in the early morning hours of January 4, 2013 at the age of 56. Det. Gallant was taken too soon, and his life's work as a member of the BPD was, in our eyes, left unfinished. We plan to continue his legacy by supporting his brothers and sisters still actively serving the City of Boston as members of the BPD.
